What Are Mono PDO Threads?
Mono PDO threads are a non-surgical skin tightening treatment designed to stimulate collagen production, elastin, and hyaluronic acid for firmer, more youthful skin. Made from dissolvable PDO (polydioxanone) suture material, these threads have been used in medical procedures for decades and are now widely applied in aesthetic treatments.
This treatment is ideal for individuals who have tried radiofrequency or ultrasound skin tightening but feel they need a stronger lifting effect. PDO threads work by creating a support network under the skin, promoting natural regeneration and long-lasting firming results.
The procedure involves topical numbing cream applied 30 minutes before treatment to ensure comfort. Some swelling, bruising, or redness may occur immediately after, but these side effects typically subside within a few days.
PDO threads are gradually absorbed by the body over 3–6 months, while the collagen they stimulate can maintain the results for 12–24 months. For optimal improvement, three sessions are recommended over time.
